Happy Friday!!!
Housekeeping:
-Formal Observations for Probationary Teachers
begin the week of March 13th. Please review the emailed schedule. If
you are a probationary teacher, please
-Mrs. Pickett (my 2nd Grade
Teacher) and Ms. West (my 1st Grade Teacher) will be attending our
April 18th Staff Meeting. I’m so excited to have them in Virginia
and in our school.
-There will be an audit of the online programs
that we’ve invested in for this school year. As we plan for next year, it is
important not to squander the investments as we respond to our budget, we must
be fiscally responsible.
Leadership Opportunities:
- I truly thank the following staff members
for attending the MAP Continuum training session on Tuesday, Jan. 31st; Mrs.
Hoover, Ms. Moore, Mr. Fain, Mrs. Hulse and Mrs. Farrell. We learned some new
tools and are looking forward to grade level conversations to help remediate
and enrich our students.
Teacher Leaders and Building Leadership
Capacity - VI
Mentor: Serving as a mentor for novice
teachers is a common role for teacher leaders. Mentors serve as role models;
acclimate new teachers to a new school; and advise new teachers about
instruction, curriculum, procedure, practices, and politics. Being a mentor
takes a great deal of time and expertise and makes a significant contribution
to the development of a new professional.
Highlights of the Week:
- Thank you for the
flexibility and understanding with the Read Across America Schedule! I think
that it was over zealous of me to think I could get into every class to read this week. I tried my absolute best, in spite
of the numerous directions I was pulled, I was able to share my favorite book.
I look forward to Monday when I will complete my schedule! Thanks again!
-It was great to see all of
the students and staff who participated in the festivities this week. Thank you
to Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Hulse in their preparation for this week. Thank you to
all who was a part of the planning and execution of Read Across America Week!
-We successfully held our ‘Hugs
and Kisses’ Assembly on a Friday!!! Our students received the play and actors
with respect and Quality Assembly Behavior. I have placed an administrative paw
on each class’s banner. Phenomenal Job, Panthers!
-Mrs. Quattrone and Mrs.
Jones has worked diligently on the SOL Schedule and I appreciate their time,
dedication and consideration for getting this out to the staff. Thank you to
Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Palmer for printing off and making the TestNav
information accessible and ready for teachers to review in preparation for the
trainings next week, please refer to Mrs. Quattrone’s email for mandatory
dates.
-Congratulations to the Bel
Air Smashers for a fantastic volleyball season!!! We are so proud of you and
the professional way you represented our school! WAY TO GO!!!
